Synergy Group believes in reaching out to the local communities and helping out the needy. Furthering their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign, Synergy joined hands with MaritimeONE, as part of the Singapore Shipping Association’s (SSA) Young Executives Committee (YEG). On August 5, team members visited the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home in Singapore.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12899″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”584 × 438″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=”” el_id=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Presently, the Home is dedicated to provide superior healthcare services to more than one hundred elderly residents. They also have ‘resident workers’ (aged people abandoned by their family), whom they provide free food, lodging and medical care.
The team was impressed by the staff of old age home, who provide high quality nursing care. Nursing is provided by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse aids. Also, 5fiveof them are local members who have been in the nursing service for over 50 years. Many of them came out of retirement to help and educate the younger staff members, with their experience. The other caretakers come from Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka and India.
Team members engaged in table games and activities with the residents as well as helped them in the physiotherapy sessions. Goodie bags were prepared for all the residents and gifted. Few simple art and craft activities brought many smiles and expressions of joy amongst all.
Synergy’s heart goes out to the “Old and Forgotten”. They have the right to dignity even after they are past their prime. We constantly works in different ways to reach out to the society. With this visit, the teams ensured that they not only gave few goodies to the elderly, but spent quality time with them, some who have been either neglected by their family members, and others who have no one to look up to.
Let’s be the change that we wish to see in this world! This visit was one of Synergy’s many CSR activities, a way of giving back to the society. In recent years, we have worked to implement formalized principles and forge partnerships that integrate social responsibility more tightly into our business and our operations. This work is and will remain an on-going journey for Synergy Group, where we enhance and adapt earlier initiatives and embark on new ones.
