[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Danish supplier of nautical data and software to the maritime industry, Weilbach is launching a new ‘pay as you sail’ software, which ensures that all charts are constantly available. This means that ship owners are able to cut costs for administration. As a result of an increasing requirement for digital nautical charts from the maritime industry, Weilbach is introducing the ‘pay as you sail’ software that is a part of the WENDIS product range.
“During the last 6-8 years we have experienced a demand for digitalized nautical charts and publications, as ship owners are looking for smarter methods on board. Therefore, we are now launching a digital platform with access to charts, logbooks and other essential services that are needed on board,” Martin N. Mikkelsen, Director, Business Development at Weilbach explains and continues: “The system is compatible with all types of computers, ECDIS and vessels. In this way, the platform can be accessed from all types of vessels no matter what kind of setup they use.”
The new software will increase the efficiency on board as all charts are available all the time with no special actions required. Individual vessels are tracked and their positions are used to determine which charts are being used. “By using this software, the administration and workload on board are being minimized as all charts are available on the platform. The principle of the software is that a vessel is only charged for the chart cells actually used for navigation, and that is why we call it a ‘pay as you sail’ service,” Martin N. Mikkelsen says. The new software is called WENDIS PAYS and is the latest product within the Weilbach Nautical Display Information System (WENDIS) product range.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
